The 6 Things You Need To Know For April 17, 2019

  1. The All-Mayflower Squad: Springtime brings about spring cleaning in all forms and fashions. This time, it’s the *unfortunate* task of coaches cleaning out their desks and their homes and moving on to often times bigger and better things. Turnover in the coaching ranks is unfortunately reaching crisis status for many reasons, but here’s our attempt to bring you up to speed throughout the ranks courtesy of floridahsfootball.com —-> https://floridahsfootball.com/coaching/2019-coaches-moving-van/
  2. Is that Usain Bolt? Well not exactly, but take a gander at this young man literally flying around the track and making it look like this video is doctored he’s so fast: https://usatodayhss.com/2019/video-tony-mccray-ran-a-relay-leg-so-fast-it-was-hard-to-believe-it-happened
  3. The Bulls Got Themselves a Pirate: And he’s a good. Real good. USF’s Football program, their fans, and Shaun King have a nice new feather in his recruiting cap and in his RB’s room with the addition of Braden River’s Brian Battie. Stepping up in the wake of the drama that followed Knowledge McDaniel most of the season, Battie absolutely lit up scoreboards and opposing defenses to the tune of 2,133 yards on 249 carries as a junior. He also finished the season with 28 TD’s rushing, but it was his effort in 3 games alone that make you take a looooong look at what kind of potential he brings. Against Manatee, St. Petersburg, and Plant City—Battie finished with 963 yards and 11TD’s alone. When he gets rolling, he’s a real bull in the china shop.
  4. Feeling Devilish? SCHEDULE TIME! Brand new district for Kathleen this season, and what appears to be 7 road games on the schedule this season for the Red Devils as well. They’ll host Booker on the 16th of August and then: 8/23–at Lake Wales, 8/30–Lake Gibson, 9/6–at Ridge Community, 9/13–at Strawberry Crest**, 9/20–Manatee, 9/27–Durant**, 10/4–at Bartow, 10/11–at Bloomingdale**, 10/18–at Plant City**, 10/25–at Lakeland**, 11/1–bye week
  5. New look for the Pirates: New face at the helm for Pasco this season, and an extremely manageable new district for the Pirates as well. Jason Stokes is at the wheel this year, and after a trip to Bartow on the 16th, the schedule shapes up like this: 8/23–at Land O’Lakes, 8/30–Sunlake, 9/6–Auburndale, 9/13–Cypress Creek, 9/20–at Dixie Hollins, 9/27–at Springstead**, 10/4–at Ocala Forest, 10/11–Lake Minneola**, 10/18–bye week, 10/25–at Lecanto**, 11/1 at Zephyrhills
