Short Capsule: The message is simple, win football games. The Falcons 1-9 season was its worst since 2002 when the Falcons went 0-10 under head coach, Andy Martin. The Falcons lone win this season came on a forfeit win vs. King. So, the message is simple, but the work to climb out the hole is hard. Matt Kitchie steps in a sand pit as the new head coach, but can see a way out. There will not be a magic genie or recue chopper to save the Falcons. It’s going to take hard work and determination, starting with the new staff and the playmakers. The Birds will rely on Alex Smith and Andre Simpson to be leaders and carry the team out the mud. Both players have plenty of game experience and are talented enough to make some noise here in the county. Leto must work hard on changing the attitude on the team from a bunch of guys in jerseys to a team of winners.

“Coach Speak:” “We would just like to improve everyday! Our goals are to cut points scored against us in half from last season. Offensively, last season there was no direction. We will score more points this season and be more efficient on offense. We hope to also be sounder in the kicking game!” ~ Matt Kitchie

“Fun Fact”: Leto has struggled to establish the program as a winning one. But, it has not always been bad for the Falcons. In 1978, Leto went 10-1 under Head Coach, Joe Kolinsky and ended their season with a Suncoast Bowl win v Seminole 21-19.

“Uh-oh”: Because the Falcons are currently low on numbers, they can’t afford to lose any member of the team to injury or transfer.
