Pugh’s View: Throw out a 16 point loss to Saint Petersburg, and the Pirates were 12 points from being 8-2 and not 4-6. They lost THREE games by 1 point and another by 2. That tells me a couple of things, but most importantly when I look at the roster and district schedule I can’t help but think this team is in for much of the same this season only this time I believe they will win some of those close ones. They lose their QB, but they’ve never been short on raw athleticism or talent. They’ll be in the hunt for that 2nd playoff spot with Tarpon without a doubt.

Must Have: Bobby Runcie or whoever Coach Brinson dubs as the leader step in and be able to keep the Pirates moving. Denzal Dillard is an absolute speed merchant, and 6’8″ WR/DB Diquez Henderson could pick up right where 2011 Bethune-Cookman Commit Tyree Green left off.

Uh-Oh: Can’t have the same mistakes that cost 4 victories. When you loose games by less than three points that usually on YOUR team, not the other. Just a philosophy I have, but I’d bet they would agree over in Gulfport.
