On Fire Prospects

Over 80 BCP Coverage area prospects hold verbal offers to date. Many were pretty popular prior to the spring season. Most exploded during the month of May once college coaches were able to match the hype with the prospect (Eye Test).  Many coaches have heard (especially evaluations from BCP) about players and have watched video of a ton of prospects, but the majority do not make moves until they see the prospects in person. Case and point below with the prospects listed. Below are 8 prospects who exploded during the spring months.

Tajee Fullwood, Tampa Bay Tech 2
Tajee Fullwood, Tampa Bay Tech 2

Tajee Fullwood, Tampa Bay Tech. 2014 CB
Back in February, Fullwood was our #48th ranked prospect in our coverage area with zero offers. We said he would pop and pop in a big way because of his athleticism and height. The college coaches jumped on board and in a big way. Now Tennessee, Iowa State, UCF, Indiana, FSU, Arizona, USF, Rutgers, Louisville, North Carolina Central and UMASS all feel Fullwood can play for their programs.

Gary Brown, Alonso 2014 OL
In a recruiting year with so many talented offensive linemen, Gary Brown was not on the top of anyones’ OL list. Martinez, Wynn and Gibbons grabbed most of the attention. Leaving Brown and others as the “Other Good Prospects.” Quite different now. The BHSN/BCP Ignite Elite Showcase participant has picked up steam after his first offer from Ohio in early 2013. During the spring season, Brown has picked up offers from Nebraska, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Georgia Tech and USF (along with others).

Justus Reed, Clearwater Central Catholic 2014 DE
Prior to transferring to CCC after the 2012 season, Justus Reed was a great player on a NOT so great team. When the BCP Fire 79 ranking in early February was released, he was our top ranked DE with not a single verbal offer. Since then, FSU, Cincinnati, Iowa State, NC State, Boston College, Purdue, North Carolina, Ohio State, USF, FAU, UCF, Pittsburg and West Virginia have all offered Reed.

Amani Oruwariye, Gaither 2014 CB
Who knew this young man would pop like he did? We sure did. After a Big Time performance at The BHSN/BCP Ignite Elite Showcase (part of the BCP Exposure Series), it became evident that “A.O.” had skills. After Louisville offered, so did Wake Forest, Iowa State, Georgia Tech., Middle Tennessee, FIU, Marshall, Rutgers, Boston College, USF and Vanderbilt. Bulk of the offers came in May when coaches saw his frame and long arms.

Dacorius Law, Haines City 2014 RB
Started with just 1 offer entering the month of May. To date, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan State, South Alabama and Iowa State have offered our #4 overall prospect. After watching Law, it was clear that this player was big time and it was only a matter of time before college coaches felt as we did.

Cordell Hudson, Largo 2014 CB
After a MVP performance at the BHSN/BCP Ignite Elite Showcase (part of the BCP Exposure Series) it was a sure thing that Hudson would be a hot prospect. It took some time, but all the interest has finally turned into offers. Hudson had zero verbal offers staring May 1st and has several to date including Boston College, South Alabama, Iowa State, Wake Forest, Buffalo, Air Force and Ball State.

Nate Craig-Meyers, Pasco 2016 WR
Our #11 ranked prospect (only 2016 prospect in top 18) back in February when his name was contained to Pasco County. Now he is a national prospect. Just a freshman but with offers such as Florida, Florida State, Miami, Wisconsin, Mississippi, Clemson, Tennessee, Rutgers, Ohio State. Entered the Month of May with offers from Texas Tech. and UMASS.

Jake Fruhmorgen, Plant 2015 OT
One of the more attractive prospects at the BHSN/BCP Ignite Elite Showcase (part of the BCP Exposure Series), “Fruh” is also one of the hottest 2015 prospects around. Has pulled offers such as Miami, FSU, Vanderbilt, Washington State, Tennessee ad Auburn. He is super athletic and can be a true backside tackle at the next level.
