RECRUITING THE BOX

Mouth of the South (Tampa), Paris Bostick is more than just talk!

Paris Bostick, Plant, S, 2013

Not much has been said about Paris Bostic. “Crazy”, because he might be the most outspoken, full of energy Panther in recent years. At 6-2/203 pounds Bostick has become a fairly attractive college prospect. The rising senior safety holds 4 verbal BCS offers according to head coach Robert Weiner and is surely to receive more between now and the end of Spring football. “The recruiting process has been slow at times, but I’m in no rush to make a decision. Overall, it has been good and I’ve enjoyed the process”, stated Bostick.

USF, Louisville, Rutgers and Boston College have offered Bostick, but he knows he has room to grow and get better. “I feel I’m a pretty good player, but I know I have room to grow. I want to play college football and want to play on the defensive side of the ball as a corner or safety”. Bostick is a primary defensive player for the Panthers, but flirted around at RB in the spring and has lined up at receiver for WR coach, TJ Lane. “I’m pretty versatile and just love the game”, says Bostick.

Paris has traveled the US with Panthers playing in out of state games, 7 on 7 tournaments and many different showcases. But, he missed arguably the most important game of his life as the Plant Panthers won the 8A state title this season without Bostick on the field due to disciplinary actions enforced by the school. Since then, Bostick has refocused and done nothing but put his efforts into getting better as a person and player. “I have grown a lot! You can see I have gotten bigger, I’m getting faster and I’m growing as a person”.

For right now, Bostick will push forward in driving his senior led Panthers to a strong offseason. He knows for the Panthers to be at their best, he needs to be at his best. As coach Weiner says “Point of Separation”! How will Bostick separate himself from the rest of the top 2013 safeties to become one of the Elite? Time and hard work will tell.
