Lake Wales 2015 Marcus Walker claims big offers

Marcus Walker
Lake Wales 2015 safety

As a freshman, Walker tells BCP he pulled a few big offers after an impressive spring game where he had 3 interceptions and a touchdown. After the big time showing, the 6-2 safety said he pulled offers from Florida, Central Florida and South Florida (previous staff).

We took the time to do a quick Q&A with our #21 ranked prospect

BCP: What are your strengths as a prospect?
MW: My strengths as a prospect are my length, my speed and I can read a quarterbacks’ eyes. I react quick on the run and pass and I’m a for sure tackler.

BCP: Where can you improve?
MW: I can improve my footwork.

BCP: Who is the player on your team that you compete with on a daily basis in all areas of football (weight room, conditioning, practice, etc.)?
MW: Dedric Brinson (2014 CB) because we try to be the best. We don’t settle for average and he’s older than me and I surround myself with positive people. We do everything together. I prefer to play with people older than me and better than me to push myself

BCP: What schools are showing strong interest or have offered?
Offers – Florida, UCF, USF.
Interest – Michigan, North Carolina, Florida State, Rutgers, Indiana and Georgia

BCP: Are you planning on taking spring and summer unofficial visits this year? If so where?
MW: Florida and Notre Dame

BCP: Who is the biggest influence when it comes to athletics?
MW: Coach Tavaris Johnson (Lake Wales defensive back coach) he’s a spiritual man and leads my team in the right direction and makes sure we give all the thanks to God.
