RECRUITING

Friday 5 pack. 5 players with high expectations in 2017

Dane Belton, Jesuit (Tampa), 2019, SAF
You may not notice this young man on Friday Night until he makes that big hit or robs the quarterback for an interception. Mild manner young man who packs a big punch. Belton is one of those “Glue” style players. You really don’t know how much he does until he is missing. A key member of the successful Jesuit defenses of the past. Has played plenty of football, so a veteran in the game. At his best when defending the run. Becomes the fourth linebacker pretty much in the Jesuit defensive scheme. Remember the name.

Hakeem Ricketts, Chamberlain
Hakeem Ricketts, Chamberlain

Hakeem Ricketts, Chamberlain, 2018, DL (PRJ DT)
Well, the success of a team starts up front. We hear the same over and over again and for good reason. In this case, this athlete does good on both sides of the ball. Coaches rave about his selflessness and we rave about his ability to produce at a high level all the time. Remember the name.

Nick Terrana, Jesuit (Tampa), 2018, OLB
Jesuit may have one of the best linebacking units in the area. Hard to miss that long, rangy, athletic outside linebacker off the edge, Nick Terrana. His film is great and he is a lot more physical than expected. Best when coming off the edge and attacking the ball carrier in the backfield. Good pass rusher, good in his pass drops. Highly productive last season with ambitions of being better this year.

Ethan Carde, Bloomingdale, 2019, OT
Bloomingdale may be one of the most exciting offenses of 2017. Could be premature, but that’s a warning for teams who have to play them. With that said, for them to score points like we think they can, the offensive line is crucial. Ethan Carde will be the anchor at the backside tackle position. Huge frame at 6 foot 7 inches, 315 pounds with an amazing reach…Ethan has a chance to attract major recruiting attention. Remember the name.

Ygenio Booker, Hernando, 2018, ATH – O (WR/RB)
Another one of those “Do everything” players…receiver, running back, defensive back, linebacker and several positions on special teams, Booker is the ultimate teammate with really good ability. Already holds a number of college football offers with lots of attention swirling, Booker is going to makes some noise in the North Suncoast. Remember the name.
