PASCO COUNTY PINELLAS COUNTY

E7 Summer Spotlight: 2016 RB’s

Better bring your hard hats and your lunch pails if you want to earn the final spot for Xecutives at this position. Without question, the competition at this spot will be hot-and-heavy this Sunday with one of the area’s biggest names along with three other guys who can produce in their own right. Let’s take a look at some of the seniors that could shutout the young bucks for that final invite. Three of these four young men will be looking to rep their home turf come this Sunday in Land O’Lakes.

Chris Schwarz (5-8/198) – River Ridge
You’ve heard all about his achievements from last season and this spring, now it’s time to see what you’ve been missing. Granted, this is ALL just competition that takes place t-shirts and shorts, but wait till the lights go on and watch this young man go to work. Schwarz led the state in rushing and finished eighth in the nation for the Royal Knights. Schwarz is coming off a 300+ yard performance versus Tampa Catholic in the spring, which also earned him BHSN’s Player of the Week.

Glass Wilson IV (5-10/185) – Ridgewood
We’ve talked about this young man quite a bit this offseason and justifiably so. He had a tough spring game up in Crystal River, but he wasn’t the only one. Wilson carries an offer from the hometown USF Bulls and his camping at the Ivy’s this summer as well as he is already well-qualified in the classroom to carry his weight on and off the field. Wilson also shows some skill on the defensive side as well picking up 63 tackles in addition to over 1,000 yards of total offense for the Rams last season.

Eric Wilson (5-11/172) – Pasco
This young man rushed for 244 yards and three touchdowns last season for the Pirates and showed he’s got the capability to increase that output significantly after his performance versus Wiregrass Ranch in the spring. Wilson will not shy away from showing his skills against some of the county’s best whether it’s in pads or not; so we expect him to raise the level of competition at this spot and to raise the stress of the coaches having to decide who gets the invite from this group.

Chris Garza-McLean (5-2/150) – Seminole
Don’t let the measured height-and-weight fool you. This young man gets after it. He led the Warhawks in rushing last season and posted seven touchdowns. Garza-McLean is most definitely a worthy look come this Sunday.
