E7 Summer Spotlight: 2016 QB’s

Just two invites remain for the 2015 Xecutives at the quarterback position following Ignite and E7 Spring, so let’s take a look at some possible candidates for those invites starting with the signal-callers from the Class of 2016. There could be some pretty stiff competition coming from the 2017-18 participants registered, but with youth comes inexperience at times so it could be an opportunistic moment for these rising seniors to take advantage of their foes in the younger grades. If any of these guys pop at the event this Sunday, you can be sure you’ll be hearing more about them in the not-so-distant future. For now, let’s just put their names out there and let the competition speak for itself.

Of the quarterbacks registered in all classes, there are just six hailing from the Class of 2016. Can any of these guys make-a-move and earn an invite?

Brandon Vinkler (6-1/220) – Anclote
Vinkler and the Sharks took it on the chin last season, going 0-10. This season they’ve turned the page and Vinkler’s 177 yards and 3 touchdowns in their spring game versus Springstead accounted for over 10 percent of his total offensive output from last season in just one game. Vinkler also camped last summer at “The Standard” QB camp in Orlando held by BCP.

Matthew Iovine (6-1/185) – Zephyrhills Christian Academy
Iovine was under center when his squad took the field in their first game at 11-man football this spring versus Santa Fe Catholic. He has camped at every event this season thus far and has shown he can hang with the big boys. This setting featuring tons of younger talent could be chance for him to shine. He could give the coaches plenty to think about come invite time at the end of the day.

Bryce Martin (6-3/175) – Wharton
The Wildcats went 4-6 last season, but are coming off a successful spring with a win. Martin completed 18-of-33 passes for 247 yards, while throwing for three touchdowns and two interceptions.

Thee more senior prospects to keep an eye out for:
Garrett Bradford (6-0/150) – Wharton
Noah Johnson (6-0/170) – Durant
Reed Grable (6-0/175) – Riverview
