E7 Summer Spotlight: 2016, WR’s/TE’s

The process of dissemination continues as we look towards Sunday’s E7 Summer event in Land O’Lakes. We look a little closer at some guys that “could” make a push for earning invites for their position groups. There are six invites available for the wide receiver group and four remaining for the tight ends. Here are some seniors that could take advantage of the youth movement that’s signed up for this event and earn themselves a spot with the Xecutives.

Tight Ends

Matthew Elkins (6-4/220) – Anclote
We mentioned that the Sharks got thumped pretty good last season going winless, but we also mentioned that they’re coming off a victory in which they put up 63 points in the spring. Elkins has the frame to make some things happen and caught thirteen passes for 165 yards last season and scored two touchdowns.

Tyler Quigley (6-3/190) – Hernando
Relatively unknown at this point, but he was listed on the roster on the line last season for Hernando. Quigley’s frame makes him an intriguing watch. Ironically most of the size in match-ups he’ll face from the linebackers and defensive backs comes from the Class of 2018, so we shall see if experience plays a role even though there’s a position switch.

Aaron Riley (6-2/195) – Victory Christian Academy
The Storm will need to replace some serious offensive output from last season, and with QB Deondre Pride in need of weapons, we look to Riley to possibly step up and take command of that role.

Wide Receivers

Jake Wilson (6-1/178) Weeki Wachee
The Hornets are starting to put some talent on their roster and Wilson could provide yet another weapon for QB Alec Cromie this fall. Wilson caught three passes for 42 yards and also contributed 14 tackles on defense for Weeki.

Keyon Walters (5-9/160) Tenoroc
The speedy slot WR made some things happen last season for the Titans in an otherwise disappointing campaign. Walters could be a tough task for many of the defensive prospects trying to defend him this Sunday. He caught 23 passes for 497 yards for Tenoroc and scored two touchdowns as well as posting 148 yards in returns via kickoff and punt returns in 2014.
