Durant High school is still a fairly new campus. In turn, the series with Plant City does not have an extended history. The two teams started playing in 1999 which Plant City escaped by the skin of their teeth in a 28-27 overtime victory. Since then, the two team have played every year, Plant City claiming bragging rights. Leading the series 9-4.

The 3-1 Raiders have progressively improved week to week. A few new coaches, some key freshman and a bunch of veterans have the Raiders smelling a district championship. 2016 RB, Erving Michael has been sensational. He leads the team with 427 rushing yards a true freshman. The Raider defense as a whole has been great of late. Totaling 21 total sacks as a team.

Durant on the other hand, has picked up where they left off. That starts at the bus stop, Jamarlon Hamilton. The “Big Bus” has again shown that he is one of the most productive players in Hillsborough, getting it done each and every week. The Cougar defensive play has been key! As a team, Durant has only allowed 19 total points this year.
