Mitchell v Land O’Lakes

Land O’Lakes leads the all-time series 7-2. Both Mitchell victories were award due to forfeiture. The Mustangs have yet to defeat the Gators on the field. Land O’ Lakes leads 3-1 when playing at home and 4-1 when playing at Mitchell.

This season, Mitchell seems to be the favorite as they are an impressive 4-1, coming off their first loss to Sunlake. Land O’ Lakes has yet to find their rhythm. At 1-3, the Gators are needing a big win to gain some momentum.

Mitchell is striking fast and often. Averaging 9.4 point in the first quarter, 12.8 in the second and 10.8 in the third quarter. The fourth quarter, just 1.4 points, but that is likely due to the number of backups that are in the game at that time. As a team, they are posting 34.4 points per game.

Land O’Lakes on the other hand is struggling to consistently score points. They are averaging just 16.3 points per game. The offense is very balanced, but the production is slim. Gator leading rusher, Harrison Wood is averaging a mere 56 yards per contest and Ethan Weilant is passing for 75 yards per game.

In order for Mitchell to get their first win versus Land O’ Lakes, they must continue to feed RB, Christian Trinidad who is averaging 99 yards per game and has totaled 495 rushing yards on the season. Land O’ Lakes must make the game longer and play good defense. The Gators have allowed 110 points this season, but 49 of those in one game to Pasco High.
