BCP Summer Position Rankings: QBs

The 2012 SUMMER BCP POSITION RANKINGS start off with no other position but the quarterbacks. We split the QBs into two groups: The Pro style pocket QB and the Dual Threat QB who is just as dangerous running the ball as he is passing. The QB is the leader of the team, hardest worker, tempo setter and perfect example of team player. No other position in any sport exemplifies what a QBs does.

The success of a team points to the QB. The lack of success points to the QB. The only position on the field occupied by one person. Each play starts with his voice and ends with his encouragement of disappointment. There is no hiding for a quarterback. Everybody in any given school knows the Principal, head football coach and the starting quarterback. With great success, comes great responsibility.

Curtis Fitch, Steinbrenner 2014 QB enters the Pro Style QB ranking along with Kyle Ploucher, Tampa Catholic 2014 QB making a big splash in the Dual-Threat QB rankings. Both QBs were extremely excited to be acknowledged as one of the best in the BCP coverage area (Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco County). “It’s great to be recognized by BCP. I’ve been trying to be ranked by BCP for the last two years,” says Fitch. Ploucher exhibited much of the same excitement saying, “Awesome! I haven’t started a game yet. But, really happy I got voted in.”

Both Fitch and Ploucher are new to the BCP position rankings, but not new to the work it will take for both QBs to get their teams to the playoffs. Fitch says that being ranked “Makes me want to work harder and keep climbing in the rankings.” Ploucher was honored to be ranked but wants his team to return to the playoffs.
