With Video: Standout Ignite RBs, TEs and LBs

After watching every clip our cameras caught this past Sunday at the BCP Ignite Showcase, the following stood out the most on film.

AFTER WATCHING FILM
Line Backers
Decalon Brooks, Gaither, 2017, LB
After watching film, the MVP went to the right participant. Brooks fought off other LBs who were right on his tail by really excelling in pass rush and open field tackling drills. When it can to anticipating run angles and taking away running lanes, no other LB was better last Sunday. Brooks also cover well. Has incredible speed for his position, which allowed him to clean up errors on the go.
Estefano Feliciano, Gaither, 2017, LB
Pleasant surprise here. Backer coaches praised his improvement throughout the day. His best showing arguably can in open field tackling where Estefano rarely was beat by the ball carrier.
Dylan Throneburg, Newsome, 2017, LB
What we ask kids to do, is compete. Dylan jumped into the deep end of the pool and worked his tail off to excel in every facet of the showcase. He covered extremely well and did great in open field tackling. He’ll need to improve his pass rush moves.
AJ DeShazor Jr, Lake Gibson, 2017, LB
The highest recruited backer of the bunch. Just pulled a UCF offer days after Ignite. He is too fast, too agile and too strong. His ability to change directions reflects a defensive back. He showed well AGAIN this past weekend.
Garrett Ware, Manatee, 2017, LB
Ware traditionally competes with BCP as a tight end. He competed at line backer this year to improve at the position he will play in pads this upcoming season. Ware showed nice hips and really good reaction. He’ll work to improve his pass rush moves where his athleticism will shine.

Tobias Larry, Kathleen, 2017; Armand Chalk, Hillsborough, 2017, LB,
Running Backs and Tight Ends
Malik Davis, Jesuit (Tampa), 2017, RB
This is pretty simple. He caught the ball well, ran the ball well and pass protected like a pro. He was the clear example of how a big dog should show at a BCP showcase. He took coaching and applied it to each drill. Note: He had the #1 Ignite Testing rating calculated from 5 testing events. Monster Day!
Karmi Mackey, Seffner Christian Academy, 2017, RB
The small school kid made a big impression. He was more nimble and agile than expected. 6 foot running back that showed the ability to slide and push through holes.
Adarius Lemons, Clearwater , 2017, RB
The highest recruited back at Ignite last Sunday and was every bit as good as advertised when it came to footwork drills and catching the ball out the backfield. Such a long stride and surprised defenders with his feet. Will improve his pass blocking.
Steven Witchoskey, Durant, 2017, TE
He is now 6-3/230. One SEC coach saw his BCP Vine clip from Ignite and stated “TE got a big radius. I’ll check him out.” Steven surprises most defenders with his athleticism. The kid is better than advertised and catches the football with ease.
Larry Hodges, Jesuit (Tampa), 2019, TE
Yes. He is just a freshman. But he went at the upperclassmen like a hungry young pup should. We won’t elaborate too much on the young players because we want them working more than reading their own ink. But he showed well at Ignite.
