After watching every clip our cameras caught this past Sunday at the BCP Ignite Showcase, the following stood out the most on film.
AFTER WATCHING FILM |
---|
Wide Receivers |
Anthony Quintana, Sickles, 2017, WR |
Fun player to watch. Had some sweet, quick feet and showed the ability to get off the line of scrimmage versus press coverage consistently. |
Daquon Green, Tampa Bay Tech, 2017, WR |
The University of Florida oral commit was a good as advertised again! Mild manner, respectable young man who has a quiet storm of confidence brewing inside. We happen to think the monster is coming to the surface. If it happens, this kid could be unstoppable at the high school level. His route running is an A plus plus plus! |
Bryce Miller, East Lake, 2017, WR |
So many look past Miller until Miller has passed by them. He is so refined as a receiver and so polished. Pure pass catcher and uses his footwork to create separation and stack defensive backs in coverage. |
Darius Corbett, Tampa Catholic, 2017, CB |
The difference between a 7 on 7 events and a Showcase, at a showcase full attention is on you when you step up at the line. The opportunity is there for you to open eyes. Corbett made sure everyone in attendance asked about him at the end of the event. Great release, soft hands and good routes. |
Jacquez Jones, Clearwater , 2017, WR |
Arguably the best receiver in Pinellas County for the 2017 class. “Quez” clocked a 4.4 forty-yard dash and looked every bit of it when running his routes. His recruitment is starting to pick up from major universities. The kid is good and loves the competition. |

Defensive Backs |
Peyton Xayasone, Countryside, 2018, S |
We may have something here. Really performed well in drills and 1 on 1s. Showed good feet in loose coverage and good lateral movement in press coverage. |
Bentlee Sanders, Tampa Catholic, 2017, CB |
Fantastic day for Sanders. Took home MVP honors and he earned it. Only wanted the best receivers in the line. Won more battles than he lost and repeatedly made plays on the ball in the air. Showed awesome eye disciple and plant/drive. |
Isaac Etienne, Auburndale, 2017, RB/CB |
Didn’t know anything about this kid prior to. We do now. He was all over the wide receivers in 1 on 1s. Took away the space and made life hard on ball catchers. |
Amari Burney, Clearwater Central Catholic, 2018, S |
Big kid that moves much better than expected. Won the safety MVP because he covered well and showed good footwork for his 6-1 size. |
Jaquan Hiers, Largo, 2018, S |
During red zone 1 on 1s Hiers intercepted the first two passes thrown to the receiver he was covering and then stole the fourth pass thrown in his direction. Intercepted 3 of 4 passes during red zone 1 on 1s. |
