WITH VIDEO: IGNITE SMALL SKILL GO ONE ON ONE

Tampa, FL – The first of the Big County Preps off-season camps took place this past Sunday at Larry Sanders Sports Complex. 190 athletes took the field to showcase their talent in front or numerous fans and a handful of talent evaluators. Big County Preps filmed every competitive drill which will be shown at a latter date.

IGNITE is the first of the 3 BCP Exposure Series Events (Ignite, E7-Spring and E7-Summer) which will conclude with THE XECUTIVES! Xecutives IS AN INVITATION ONLY Showcase where the top performers from Ignite, E7 Spring and E7 Summer will be invited (Free of Charge) to compete at the Mid Summer bash…The Xecutives, which will be the Elite of the 3 Exposure events. Ignite is the start and the event Area Athletes look forward to.

MVP Ahmarean Brown, Tampa Catholic , 2019, WR (5-10/145) went bonkers again at BCP Ignite. Repeat camper who understands how to showcase on a bright stage. Not only did he run the fastest handheld 40 yard dash time, he torched the defensive backs. Rival Larry Hodges, Jesuit, 2019, TE (6-2/235) won the TE MVP showing his unmatched ball skills and crazy sticky hands. Rarely slowed by defenders. Even played some defensive back and showeded his lock down skills. Look up Kyle Benedict, Carrollwood Day , 2019, WR (5-10/156) season statistics. Might surprise you how well he did….did well again at Ignite creating a difficult cover for DBs.

Small but smooth as butter Joe Hodge, Tampa Catholic , 2020, WR (5-8/145) is a pure football player. He and Julius Gardner, Citrus, 2021, WR/DB (5-11/150) made some plays that caused evaluators to circle the names twice. Big Nate Beymer, Auburndale, 2019, TE (6-6/217) started to warm up later in the event. Yes, he really is 6 foot 6 inches. Derek Marino, Palmetto, 2019, WR (5-11/165) ran some of the best routes. Has put on some really good weight and looks like he is being coached really well. Demoundre Evans, Clearwater , 2019, WR (5-10/152) was pretty crisp and showed good quickness.

Keon Gulley, Northeast, 2019, QB (6-0/150) fought off Joseph Sandorf, Sickles, 2020, QB (6-0/170), Shaye Scott, Gaither, 2019, QB (5-10/176) and Chris Butash, Carrollwood Day , 2019, QB (6-2/198) to win MVP honors. All these QBs were on the money for most of the day. Gulley entered with an ankle injury but did not allow it to slow him down. Sandorf and Scott are veterans to the camp series and may have never looked better than they did on Sunday. Butash…to no surprise balled. Mechanics and ball location was precise.

A few young prospects stood out also: Brandon Dessi, Sickles, 2021, SAF (5-8/150), Kiael Kelly, Tampa Catholic , 2021, QB (6-1/184) and Cam’Ron Ransom, Santa Fe Catholic, 2021, QB (6-2/193). Haden Carlson, Steinbrenner, 2020, QB (6-3/175) and Ryan Overstreet, Plant City, 2020, QB (6-1/201) looked very refined. Technique sound and throw the ball with lots of confidence.

Safety MVP Dane Belton, Jesuit, 2019, SAF (6-2/190) and CB MVP Demarcus Governor, Durant, 2019, CB (6-0/181) used this opportunity to raise their stock with BCP. Both were aggressive in coverage, made serval plays on the ball. Belton is a top recruit in the upcoming class and Governor will gain steam in the spring. Jaden Pask, Jesuit, 2019, SAF (/175) showed up and showed out. Tested well and covered even better. Very athletic and is described as one of the best tacklers on the team by Head Coach Matt Thompson. You know who Leonard Parker, Plant , 2019, RB (6-1/193) is. You have heard the name. But did you know how versatile he is? Stands all of 6 foot 1 inch and can play several positions. Performed well at DB at Ignite.

Jordan Oladokun, Academy at the Lakes, 2021, CB (5-10/143) had 10 interceptions this past season. Older brother Chris Oladokun better not throw 10 interceptions in 2018 for USF as we can’t wait for him to take over at QB for the Bulls. But, the younger brother is starting his high school career off with a bang and Ignited his camp season. Who is Christopher Rolack, Robinson, 2019, CB (6-1/171)? Thank you for the introduction. He is on the radar now after showing out in front of us. Kai Martin, Calvary Christian , 2021, CB (5-7/145) has done nothing but improve each showcase he attends. Mentally tough and gritty.
