With video: Hawks breed attitude

Armwood Hawks

As always, it starts up front with Armwood. The Hawks return 3 of 5 on the offensive line and will be quick up front. A line that can move their feet and get a great push. Not as big as the 2011 offensive line, but expecting a highly productive group anchored by Thomas Bartley.

Both Alvin Bailey and Darryl Richardson will no longest be taking snaps for Evan Davis’s offense. Insert rising junior Noah Johnson. Coach Davis compares him to current Vanderbilt ATH and past Armwood QB, Josh Grady; smart, good athlete and expecting a 3,000 yard (passing and rushing) season.

Surprises on defense will be Aaron Covington. Recently received a Central Florida verbal offer, the 2015 CB can be as good as any corner around. Very physical, great frame and excellent speed.

YOUNG HAWKS – Keep an eye on…
Lonnie Baldwin, 2016 FB
Trevor Laurent, 2016 ATH
Eric Frazier, 2016 LB

Are the athletes any better than those at comparable schools? Depends on who you ask. Is the coaching better than comparable schools? Depends on who you ask. One thing is for sure, the Hawks breed intimidation and attitude. The video below displays a drill that is done early in spring and fall camp every year for the Hawks. The weak are phased out and the young show character. It speaks for the Hawks style of play on Friday Nights.
