Vontrey Hill drops 30 in Armwood win

Armwood defeated Wesley Chapel on day one of the Alonso Holiday Tournament. The Hawks lead by Vontrey Hill, edged out Wesley Chapel 76-69. Vontrey Hill led all scorers with 30 points. He went on a tear in the first quarter, starting hot with 8 points and then finished strong with 20 second half points. Hill did everything on the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. Showed a complete skill set hitting the short jumper, handling the ball and slashing to the basket. He was hard to stop scoring 8 points in the 1st quarter, 2 points in the 2nd quarter, 9 points in the 3rd quarter and 11 in the fourth quarter.

At the end of the first half, both teams kept the scoreboard close (Armwood 35 Wesley Chapel 34). Erick Thomas, Wesley Chapel forward ended the game with 29 points. Very aggressive, shooting from inside and outside the paint and dominating on the glass.

The game was tied at the end of the 3rd quarter 52 all. Armwood started to slowly pull away capitalizing at the free throw line and creating turnovers with their full court press. Marcus Hill, Armwood C was also very productive. Finished with a quiet 19 points and plenty of rebounds.

Breakdown Alum, Marcus Hayne, Wesley Chapel F finished with 12 points.
