A few weeks ago, Freedom 2013 DB, Nate Godwin laid out one of Alonso receivers on the sideline, which landed him a three game suspension, which was eventually reduced to one game. The video below is the hit. Couple of things you can see and assume.

You can see
– The receiver extended one arm in an effort to make a play on the ball.
– Once the receiver knew the ball was thrown long, he pulled that same hand back
– Nate Godwin take angle to the receiver once the ball was thrown
– It would have almost been impossible for Godwin to pull up, once the receiver pulled his arm back
– No helmet to helmet or illegal contact

You can assume
– If Godwin slows down, receiver could have caught this ball with one hand and continued up the sideline
– No whistle was blown to stop play
– The receiver was still in bounds when he was hit
