Listed below are the top 15 running backs in the BCP area according to total rushing yards. We couldn’t do “rushers” because there are a few dual threat quarterbacks with some numbers better than the backs below.
The following list is sorted according to yards per game. We have a few backs still playing. Myers, Toafili and Hamilton all ran for 1500 or more yards. Only Hamilton from Mitchell high school carried the ball over 200 times. 4 of the 15 listed backs scored 20 or more touchdowns and Chase Brown averaged over 17 yards per rush.
At the top of the list is Durant senior running backs Cameron Myers. He currently leads the area in rushing yards (1738) and yards per game (193.1). He is third in yards per attempt (11.1) and rushing TDs (21). As good as advertised. In every game with double digit attempts, Cam rushed for 130 or more yards. In three separate games, he rushed for four touchdowns. Scored on runs of 93, 80 and 75 yards.
Explosive playmaker running downhill, on the edge and in the slot. Outstanding vision and speed at the second level. Averaged 11.7 yards per carry. He’s good for a first down every time he touches the ball. – Durant RB Coach, Tim Martin
