Tampa Bay Tech 2014 DT/OG, Justin Edwards has done a 180 degree turn around his 330 pound size. He has slimmed up, worked his self in shape and become one of the main contributors for the TBT defense. Head football coach Jayson Robert had this to say about his 2014 DT, “Dedicated himself to getting into great shape. All summer he would go to a personal trainer and then attend summer training with us. His dedication shows up on film now.”
A knee injury sidelined Edwards for the early offseason training. But just as Coach Roberts stated, he worked himself into a defensive tackle who can play for series at a time, instead of a few plays at a time. Edwards in a BCP #E7 performer and it comes as no surprise that he started the season strong.
Take a look at Mr. Edwards early in 2013. Right now he plays slightly high, but he takes up space and gets in the backfield. Really shows the ability to disrupt the offense and makes plays.
