Canterbury’s Josh Belton is on the verge of something special if he can keep the pace his junior season that he set for himself as a sophomore. This 6-foot-1, 204-pound, 2017 Dual-Threat QB finished last season for the Crusaders as Pinellas County’s 7th-highest passer, throwing for over 1,400 yards and 12 touchdowns. He completed 100-of-173 of his attempts good for a 60% completion percentage, as well as gaining 440 yards on 49 carries and eight touchdowns. Belton can take snaps from the shotgun or under center while possessing great instincts as a runner once the pocket collapses and is very elusive in the open field. Another aspect of his game that really pops on his film is his ability to sell the play-action while showcasing great change of direction and burst from the blitzing defender when in bootleg situations. Belton’s arm is plenty strong at this stage and when his feet are set, is just as accurate as some of the best around.
