Then, quarterback Josh Zifer zipped down the field for a 38-yard touchdown. … Wiregrass Ranch nailed a 45-yard field goal that probably could’ve gone 10 more yards for its only points of the first half. … In the highlight of the night, Seahawks’ sophomore Ricardo Williams broke through the entire Bulls special teams unit—dragging seven defenders at one point—for an 84-yard return that set up another Burgos touchdown. … Despite taking the opening kickoff return 98-yards for a touchdown, Wiregrass Ranch could not get its offense in motion against a hungry Wesley Chapel defense in the third half.

Quotable 1: “We’re gonna be fine. We’ve got work to do, and we have to execute better. … I don’t feel like we got outplayed, we just got to be more disciplined,” Wiregrass Ranch coach Jeremy Shobe, whose squad has not won since 2010.
Quotable 2: “I’m proud of my kids. You look at the first game and we didn’t get a break, we had to play against a powerhouse like Sunlake and to hold a team like that to 10 points in a half is awesome. For these kids to rally around each other and play hard, I’ve never been more proud of a group,” Wesley Chapel coach Ben Alford on his Wildcats hanging tough with Sunlake. The Wildcats graduated nearly a whole roster of seniors last season.
Quotable 3: “It’s an amazing feeling, I have an amazing team around me and I’m gonna do what I got to do and try to take this team all the way,” Sunlake quarterback Josh Zifer after making his first career high school start behind center.
