Blake High-I visited Blake this afternoon to see how the Yellow Jackets opened up spring practice. I did not know what to expect, but was surprisingly impressed with what I saw. Dispite the low numbers, the players rotated through drills with a purpose. I never heard any negative talk from the kids. Lots of encouragement from the players towards each other. The coaches took advantage of every coaching point. I felt that some segments were a little rushed. Not enough time spent on some fundamentals, but the install sessions were very thorough and coaches made sure the kids understood their mistakes. I was surprised by the athleticism of Telfair Darreon, 2012, WR. Excellent hands and great size at 6-2. He can play at the D-1 level. I also like a young kid,Deandre James. A Shade under 6ft with, a good build. Moved well. I believe he is a rising Jr.
