Juwan Brown, Largo 2013 QB

“I look at him like I look at any other player out there on the field. He is going to give 200 percent when ever he goes out there. He works hard. He works hard at practice, he works hard in the game. He is very determined. If he has to put his team on his back he is going to do that. He is going to leave it all on the field, it doesn’t matter who he is playing. Whether it is the bottom of the barrel team or the top. He is going to give the same effort. I really admire that about him. He is very humble. He doesn’t have the big head. His play speaks for him. I think he commands his team very well. His teammates respect him on and off the field and he gives them that same respect back.” ~ Nikki Brown

The player described above is Largo senior QB, Juwan Brown. Nikki Brown, mother of Juwan, who is quoted above, got the ball rolling on her son. We won’t have to speak on him much in this article as the people who know him best tell all about him.

On the season, Brown has accumulated 332 passing yards (29 comp/44 attempts) and 3 passing TDs; 201 rushing yards on 30 attempts, averaging 6.7 yards per carry and 2 rushing TDS. The Largo Packers have started the season 3-0, defeated crosstown rival Countryside last Friday 28-7. Brown played lights out rushing for 134 of his teams’ 254 yards and 1 TD; passing for 101 yards, completing 11 of 16 attempts.

What has been said over and over about the Largo four year starting QB, he does whatever needs to be done to put his team in a position to be successful. He is a true leader and is respected by his peers. Hear what the people who know Juwan the best had to say about him.

“He’s a great player, he goes both ways [plays offense and defense], a team leader .  I cant really say too much.  As a person, he’s great.   He doesn’t really talk as much, but he knows how to carry his self on and off the field.” ~ Jarvis Stewart, Largo 2014 RB

“He is a dynamic athlete. He has done so much for the team and sometimes he puts the team on his back and makes plays out of nothing. He is a real good person. A real friend. I’ve known him since we were seven years old. He is real close and everything. He doesn’t do anything bad, he just does what he is suppose to do and gets the job done on the football field” ~ Harry Brown, Largo 2013 ATH

“He knows what to do with the football. He is not indecisive about anything. He always knows what he wants to do and how to get it done. He has the ability to think on the fly. He jokes around, real friendly. He’s not gonna get down on anybody if they do wrong or nothing like that. He is a leader!” ~ Cordell Hudson, Largo 2014 ATH

“Fast, elusive, smart, quick. He has an arm. My quarterback is good man!  He has been running this team for four years now…starting. One of the big time players on our team. A big impact player. He is a leader. He has the best personality. Always has a big old smile on his face. Loves to crack jokes.” ~ Raheem Harvey, Largo 2014 WR
