Seffner, February 1, 2019 – It was going to come. The question was “How soon?” Headed into Thursday’s game Seffner Christian senior basketball player and University of Florida signee, Brylee Bartram needed 6 three-pointers to tie the national record of 500 set by Ashley Wirtzberger (Gila Bend) who played 2007-2010.
The scene and setting at Seffner Christian’s home gym last night oozed of breaking a record…not pulling even with it. When the time came for Brylee to snap the national record, her teammates were well aware and set it up perfectly…
Brylee reacted, showering her supporters and thanking everyone who has traveled this journey with her, “ALL GLORY GOES TO GOD I’m blessed to now hold the national record for most 3’s in a career. Big shoutout to my teammates, fans & cheerleaders for making this night one to remember. Thank you to everyone for the love & support.”
The next step is the boys’ record which she needs 16 more made 3-pointers to tie and 17 to break.
Seffner Christian (17-7) won game 81-30 and will finish the regular season Saturday against Clearwater before competing in the district tournament next week.
