Short Capsule: The Crusaders time could be now. The youth of 2010 Tampa Catholic football team was a springboard for the success of the 2011 Crusaders. It will all start will the Play of rising sophomore quarterback, Chivarsky Corbett. Can he guide his team? Can he lead his team? Will his team believe in him? All these questions must be addressed and Corbett must have the correct answers in order for the TC offense to put up enough points each game to win. The defense will be led by some talented seniors who have played a lot of ball; Taylor Timmons, Tyree Holder and Tyler Maughn. Timmons will need to be good enough to draw two blockers. Holder is a solid defensive back with good cover skills and field awareness. Maughn will need to be the heart of the defense and the coach on the field in order for the Crusaders win the 3A-5 district. With the majority of the offensive line coming back and a strong stable of running backs, TC has some good tools to start filling up the tools box.

“Coach Speak”: “We are cautiously optimistic about our young team in 2011. Four players with starting experience return on the offensive line as well as most of our weapons on “O”, including our starting QB (Corbett).
