Pugh’s View: The coaching combination of James Harrell and Chris Taylor has been broken up, and I have to admit I’m a little disappointed. I was salivating at the prospect of CT having Tommy Eveld and his Top 2 WR’s returning at his disposal along with the defensive minded Harrell balancing the act. There was also a little intrigue to say the least with Plant as the opening game on the schedule and if you know your Hillsborough Co. history you’d know there’s quite a bit of familiarity between them. Jesuit is the class of the district, but will have to stay focused each week with 9 teams in the fold.

Must Have: Someone to carry the load that Miles Bennett and Anthony Harrell shared in the backfield. Enter Jakarius Crittenden. This will take the pressure off Eveld until the chemistry in the passing game is mastered.

Uh-Oh: When they line up against Plant on the 2nd of September, they will be playing for some serious neighborhood and familial bragging rights. Probably the most anticipated game of the first week around here and a close loss would be just as bad as blowout. The Tiger players and staff may not openly admit it, but this game has a huge bearing on their psyche and will serve as a springboard straight into the district schedule.
