Pugh’s View: The Eagles are the clubhouse favorite in 7-8A, and will battle with Largo and Countryside for Pinellas County supremacy throughout the season. They’ll be tested early in the month of September, but if the Dinovo to Scott and Tight End Stephen Buric connection opens up Tyler Lane and the ground game, this season could be magical. After getting blown out to start the season, they went 8-2 and lost both of those games by a total of 5 points. Great opening month of the season with CCC, Countryside, Trinity Catholic of Ocala, and Largo in 4 of the first 5 games. Throw in neighborhood rivals Tarpon Springs, and things will be quite busy over at the Eagles Nest.

Must Have: Although Dinovo is going to be one of the best QB’s in the region before he leaves, he can’t do it all by himself. Strange as it may seem, they must have a suitable replacement for their All-County K/P in Cameron Mitchell. They also need to show they’ve learned from letting the Countryside game slip away from them. They were up 13-0 at the Half.

Uh-Oh: Better find someone to replace the 16 tackles a game between Fleshman and McGuiness.
