Pugh’s View: The Tornadoes must replace the heart & soul of the offense in Hagen and Niles, but they’ve got the athletes to do it. It’s the new on-the-field leadership that may be the toughest to find early on. This too shouldn’t be THAT big of a problem as long as everybody is on the same page. The last couple of years have been plagued by winning all of their games out of district and just being “eh” inside the district which has led me to label them officially the “yeah, but…” team in Pinellas. That said, I wouldn’t count them out of this district race for a playoff-spot by any means.
Must Have: The same intensity for every game that they displayed against teams like Countryside. If they play like this week-in and week-out, they will upset some teams nobody will give them a chance against. Yeah, I said it. A solid running game would go a long way to establishing this.
Uh-Oh: The schedule sets up again for a potential run to until late October when they finish with Countryside, St.Petersburg and East Lake in 3 of the last 4 games. This time they need to keep up the momentum.
