PINELLAS COUNTY RECRUITING

Samford and UMASS focused on Boykins

Tyrae Boykins

Start naming the college prospects at Lakewood and the list will take you longer than 30 seconds to get through. Kids at every position that have the athletic ability to play college football. Of all the kids that would be named, Tyrae Boykins would be in the middle of the pack.

He is not the most visible. He has not grabbed the headlines and not a statewide or national prospect. However, he is one of the most athletic and valuable players on the team. He can play slot, wide receiver, kick returner, punt returner and corner. Has great speed, wiggle and explosion. He does a great job of adjusting to the football while in flight. Swift and sneaky good. Is he a college prospect? YES!

Currently Samford and UMASS are recruiting Boykins hard as a Slot receiver. Both schools have a heavy presence in Tampa Bay and recruit area kids very aggressively. Boykins says his main factors when picking a college will be, “If the school has my major and good academics, good facilities, and I have a good bond with the coaches.”
