Area players produce numbers that sit at the top in the state

Players do not have to be great prospects to be great players and be highly productive. Prospects have specific skill sets and measurables that make them attractive college prospects. However, productive football players do not have to be prospects to help their team win are garnish attention because of their play.

Below, we have listed a few players in our coverage area who are ranked in specific statistical categories. All stats acquired via Maxpreps.com

James Pensyl, Land O’Lakes QB is #5 in the state in passing yards. He has thrown for 594 yards in two games while averaging 297 yards per game.

Victory Christian QB, Caleb Lewis is #13 in the state with 449 yards, averaging 224.5 yards per game.

TJ Simmons, Lakeland Christian 2015 RB

Lakeland Christian 2015 RB has started the 2013 season strong. In his first two games, TJ Simmons is #2 in the state rushing for 429 yards. Along the way, he has scored 3 TDs and averaging 214.5 yards per game.

Tarpon Springs RB, Michael Ford is #7 in the state with 355 yards in two games. Has scored 6 TDs and averaging 177 yards per game.

Surprise here, but Middleton’s Anthony Rhynes is #14 in the state in receiving yards. Not a bunch of receptions, but big yards. Averaging 146 yards per game, Anthony has totaled 292 yards receiving on 8 receptions and 3 TDs.

#18 in the state in receiving yards is Christian Coleman from Fivay. Coleman has 254 yards on 5 catches. 127 yards per game and 3 TDs.

Pasco County’s own, Jaye Miner is #1 in the state in tackles. The 2015 Wiregrass Ranch linebacker has 35 tackles in two games. 16 solo tackles, averaging 17.5 tackles per game.

Trent Puleo, Seffner Christian is currently #2 in the state in tackles. Trent has 34 total tackles, 20 of which are solos.

Jackson Kilcoyne, Plant and Shavar Manuel, Blake are tied at #5 in sacks. Both players have 5 total sacks in two games and are averaging 2.5 sacks per game.
