Sad news for Holloway and Alonso

As we reported Wednesday evening, Brandon Holloway sustained a very serious hamstring tear at track practice on Tuesday afternoon.  Roger Mills, Alonso Head Track Coach said, “We have to do what is in the best interest of Brandon.” Mills said that doctors do not recommend that Holloway attempt to compete in the 2012 track season, yet rehab and get ready for the 2012 college football season at Mississippi State where Holloway has signed a letter of intent to play college football. “It would be completely wrong for us [Alonso] to try and get Brandon back this year.  We want what is best for him and that is getting ready for Mississippi State.” Holloway is an elite track athlete who is believed to be one of the few track athletes who can compete and possibly defeat Marvin Bracey from Orlando Boone in the 200m.
