Royer and Kallay shine in fall classic

Demetri Royer, 2015 SS Clearwater Central Catholic

Royer is a super interesting prospect. Not the “Wow” factor kid, but super active, productive and athletic. A 2013 BCP/BHSN Ignite Showcase alum, opened eyes last season for Palm Harbor playing just about every position on the team. This year, he will be a primary defensive player and should receive some carries at running back.

What I love most about Royer, RECOGNITION! It takes very little time for him to recognize the play and get into good football position. The very first play on the clip below is not a play that will catch the eyes of fans or spectators. But really speaks to football coaches at every level. You will see Royer fill the alley, take on the lead block, defeat the block while keeping his outside shoulder free and making the tackle. Just how you coach it!

A great season for the 2015 prospect will mean a ton for his recruitment.

Richie Kallay, 2015 OL Clearwater Central Catholic

BIG BOY with big potential.  Kallay is a season away from really being a very good prospect.  Long arms, good movement for an offensive guard.  Needs to improve footwork, flexibility and pad level.  With that said, he does some nice things on film.  Good hand placement, quick out of stance and flips hips well.  With experience, will come improvement.  Important year for Kallay.
