According to BCP sources, Richard Benjamin has been accepted for enrollment and will be at Tampa Bay Tech on Wednesday, where he started his high school career.

The reason for Benjamin’s transfer at the start of next week is simply because schools are currently in the middle of final exams. With students having Monday and Tuesday off next week, Wednesday will mark the beginning of a new semester.

Benjamin spent his freshman year at Tech before transferring to Middleton for his sophomore season. Following his sophomore year Benjamin attempted to move back to Tech. He was accepted and enrolled at TBT, but according to a report published in June of 2011 by BCP, “Benjamin went through the TBT acceptance process without his mother knowing. Benjamin’s mother never withdrew Richard from Middleton and she had no intention of doing so. TBT head football coach, Jayson Roberts, confirms that currently, Benjamin is still a student at Middleton High, but was accepted and enrolled at TBT.”

Ranked as the 10th best player in the Tampa Bay Area Benjamin competed at the Under Armour Underclassmen Combine and will participate in the BCP Ignite combine on February11th.

Benjamin joins a Tampa Bay Tech team that finished 2011 8-4 and scored nearly 30 points per game. The Titans averaged nearly 340 yards per game and featured a run-first offense in which senior runningback Cludner Lacount rushed 172 times for 1132 yards.

Benjamin already holds over 20 offers and will look to finish his high school career strong.
