Seven Rivers Christian is a small private school located in the Lecanto area of Citrus County. The Warriors went on a historic run this fall and finished with a 10-3 record, falling in the Class 2A State Semifinal to Victory Christian Academy. Even with a small roster, Coach Rayburn Greene had done a great job developing and coaching his players and it shows. One underclassman that pops on film and needs to be noted is sophomore LB Geoff Banning. Banning is listed as being 5’10” 210 pounds. He accumulated 75 tackles and 17 tackles for loss this fall. He also averaged 6.4 yards per carry in the Warriors’ single-wing offense. On film, he displays great instincts and ability. He reads well and comes downhill and finishes tackles. He blitzes with a purpose and disrupts the opposing offense. The young LB has a strong build which he will only continue to develop during Greene’s strenuous offseason program.
