Danny: Other than Christian Pellage, who is the player we will be hearing a lot about in Hernando County next fall?

BCP: Hernando is not in our immediate coverage area. The only prospects we are aware of from that county are the ones who attend our events. To answer your question and name one, Nature Coast RB, Deshawn Smith.

Jake: Do you think Nature Coast will be the best team in Hernando County next year? If not, who could contend with them?

BCP: Hernando is not in our immediate coverage area. We are not familiar with the landscape nor is there any way to tell during this time of year.

Tom: Hernando made a great hiring move this past year by bringing on Coach Bill Vonada. In time, I think he will turn Hernando into a very strong program given the athletes they have each year. They started spring practice last week and look sharp from what I hear. One player that was mentioned in particular was their rising senior QB, Tyler Kline. According to some sources, he is picking up the offense quickly and looks very good running/passing the ball and great decision making. Once source (ex football high school coach) even went on to say that he is a hidden gem and may end up being the best QB to ever come through Hernando County. Are you familiar with this kid? If so, what are your thoughts on him?

BCP: Did some good things on film. He had a solid showing at Ignite Showcase performance in January. Has plenty of room for improvement to add on to his good mobility, good touch and good arm strength.

Jay: In your opinion, which area QB stands out in your mind as having the best tools to be successful at the next level?

BCP: There are plenty of them. Would not do justice to name one. “The Next Level” has plenty of different levels of football. Are we talking Major D1, Mid Major, 1aa, D2, D3, NAIA, etc? There are plenty of QBs that have the tools to be successful at the next level.

Deena: What do you think should be the most important factors an athlete should consider when choosing a school?

BCP: Talking strictly athletics, subtracting the academics and networking opportunities, it would be “Playing Time.” What’s on the college current roster at his position and how many players a school is bringing in with his recruiting class at the same position. Athletes WANT TO PLAY!

Tommy: Path to the draft: Hi coach as I am sitting here getting excited about the up and coming draft day. I can’t help but think of my future and the possibility of myself being drafted, as I am sure most do. So I was wondering does your chance to get drafted increase because you attend a Division 1 school? My parents have been talking and telling me to consider DII and DIII and NAIA school. Has anyone every been drafted from Lower level school and been successful in the NFL? Is there a list I can view or do you know of any within the last 5 years? Is it DI or bust? Are D1 better for skilled player to get notice? Can running backs, receiver and quarterback get noticed at the lower level?

BCP: The answer to all your questions YES! Lower division players get the opportunity, get drafted and succeed in the NFL often. D1 football is “popular” and it presents a higher level of competition and exposure with the TV deals. However, NFL teams pay people to find the lower division studs that will succeed in the NFL. IT IS NOT ‘D1 OR BUST!”

Roger: How do you guys feel about Haines city’s 2015 CB
Brian Henderson?

BCP: Don’t know much about him. He has not attended any of our events.

Willie: How does a school (Riverview High-Riverview, FL) that doesn’t get any recognition for basketball get it?

BCP: Win games and make deep playoff runs.

David: Hi, this is Steve what do think of David Bordes OL for Haines City High School?

BCP: Don’t know much about him. He has not attended any of our events.

Jordan: How do you feel about Haines City’s Secondary? With returning seniors Bryan Henderson, Miranda Brundidge III, and number one prospect Derwin James.

BCP: Don’t know much about them. They have not attended any of our events.

Steve: What do you think of 2015 David Bordes OL Haines City and what do you think he can bring to his team being the only senior on the offensive line?

BCP: See above

AJ Davis, Lakeland

Charles: We have a freshman in Polk County that is drawing a lot of national attention and I hadn’t seen anything pop up on your site about him yet. Just curious to get your take on Lakeland running back Anthony “A.J.” Davis. At 6’1″ 185, he rushed for almost 900 yards as a freshman in limited duty. I don’t know how much stock you put in Max Preps but making any All American team is certainly an honor.

BCP: Let me start by saying this, we do not plaster freshmen! Too much attention, too early can negatively impact a young, impressionable kid. Their attitudes shift to “I” instead of “The team” and continuing to make their mark as young players. I firmly believe that freshman, need to understand hierarchy and team concept. When they start reading their own name over and over, attitudes change too early and can be detrimental.

We are well aware of the athlete you are referring to. Have had him evaluated since game three of the 2013 season.

We do not put any stock in any other publication’s ranking or list, but our own. I don’t even look at them.

Ken: Do you happen to have a list or can you post the spring football schedule?

BCP: SEE HERE
