HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY RECRUITING

Receivers: How do you like your Coffee?

Try 5-11/175lbs, sure handed 2012, Jefferson wide receiver. Jawaun Coffee has been waiting his turn. Waiting for Andre Davis and Chris Moore to graduate, waiting for Adrian Jenkings and Charles Booth to shine, waiting for his turn to prove his value. Well, his time is here and he is making the most of it. On the season, Coffee is the owner of 14 receptions and 245 receiving yards. Even though the Jefferson Dragons are not posting the same offensive stats as years past, Coffee is still the team leader in receiving yards and second on the team in receptions.

Part of a wide receiver group, that possibly will have 4 college football signees this year, Coffee’s production has not been overlooked. The Dragons are sitting outside of the 6A-8 district race, with Armwood and Hillsborough likely to advance, but as a senior, Coffee has had a good season thus far and in the final half of his high school football career, he should shine brighter than the first half.
