Raiders flag Freedom 29-7

From the opening kickoff Plant City dominated the game, within: 20 seconds Raiders RB Dazmond Patterson broke for a 69-yard TD run on first offensive play of the game for the Raiders giving them a 7-0 lead. For most of the second quarter both teams defense’s played with high intensity, until with around 4:00 minutes left in the quarter. Plant City QB Bennie Coney connected with RB Patterson on a 47-yard TD pass to give the Raiders a 14-0 lead. The Raiders were not done. Before half time, with 2:30 left in the 2nd quarter, PC QB Bennie Coney connected with RB Dazmond Patterson again on 59-yard TD pass and added a 2pt conversion by Antwon Armstrong. Plant City took a 22-0 lead going into halftime.

In the 3rd quarter Freedom got off to a good start, with a good kickoff return by Deven Turner into PC territory. But with penalties, the Patriots offense found themselves in a 3rd down and 60 situation forcing them to punt, but RB Patterson muffed the punt and the Patriots Shaquille Rhymer recovered the fumble, but on the next play the Patriots fumbled the ball giving it back to the Raiders. After two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties by Freedom, Coney threw his third touchdown of the game by connecting with Antwon Armstrong on a 26-yard TD pass to take an 29-0 lead.

In the 4th quarter Raiders defense was tested when the Patriots had the ball on their 10 yard line, but the Raider defense stood their ground and stopped the Patriots. With 2:43 left in the game, the Patriots got on the scoreboard with an strip and fumble return for 41-yards by DL Max Orr making the final score
29-7.
