Jefferson High, 2012, WR/DB prospect, Charles Booth helped the Dragons win a state championship last year as one of the overshadowed producers on the offense. But with the departure of division 1 WR signees, Chris Moore and Andre Davis, Booth now becomes the leader of the WR group expecting to drive the high powered Dragon offense. “The Phone Booth” (nickname given to Charles Booth because of his excellent “coverage” as a defensive back) took time out of his day to speak with BCP:

BCP: Who are the Top 7 – 10 schools that are recruiting you the hardest?
Booth: NC State, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Ole Miss, Indiana, Purdue, Vanderbilt

BCP: Verbal offers?
Booth: Youngstown State

BCP: What schools are you most interested in?
Booth: NC State, Cincinnati, Ole Miss, Indiana, Purdue

BCP: What is your “Dream School”?
Booth: Texas

BCP: Personal goals for 2011 season?
Booth: Lead Hillsborough County in receiving yards and interceptions and win another state title.

BCP: What position are you projected as playing in college?
Booth: CB/WR

BCP: Can you and the Jenkins brothers make more noise than Moore and Davis?
Booth: I believe we can. We can what duplicate what they did because we will have better match up opportunities because we will be unknown. Everybody we played knew about Chris [Chris Moore] and Dre [Andre Davis].

BCP: In your opinion, where should you be ranked in the new BCP Summer Fire 49 ranking?
Booth: I am one of the best athletes in the county, very versatile. I think I should be in the top 25.

BCP: What are Jefferson’s biggest needs that have to be filled?
Booth: O line [offensive line]! They will need to gain experience and see that they have potential to fulfill.

BCP: How do you feel about the star rating system?
Booth: A lot based on offers; don’t care too much about them.

BCP: Where should Jefferson enter the preseason rankings?
Booth: #1. We are most talented team with lots of under the radar players.
