Nyere Thompson attempts to make a big time catch during the Plant/Wharton 9 Route semi Final Game

Lithia, FL – In an event which saw 16 teams from across the Bay Area, 400 athletes and 61 games…only 2 teams made it out.  Plant and Wharton will conclude the 2011 Bright House Sports Network 9 Route 7 on 7 Tournament presented by BCP with the Championship game tomorrow (Sunday 6/26) at 2p.  Plant enters to championship game undefeated, fighting off team after team, winning the games they were suppose to win  and edging out the teams that pushed back.  Wharton went 3-1 on Friday and 4-1 saturday with their only lose coming to the hands of the Panthers by just 6 points.

Plant is looking to add another trophy to their 7 on 7 case after a big win in West Palm beach a week ago at the Heath Evans Tournament.  Wharton is attempting to win the 9 Route Tournament for the second in a row, advancing to the championship game in 2010 and now 2011.  The Wildcats lost to Spoto in 2010 who was eliminated by Strawberry Crest this year.

Plant will likely enter as a heavy favorite after beating Wharton at USF’s Sling and Shoot and defeating them today.  But in this battle of the Cats, this can go either way.  Aaron banks and Chase Litton will be the gunslingers in the championship contest with some hot hands to get the ball to.  Both teams host  a crew of receivers that are capable of making a play at any time.  Austin Aikens is the man for Plant and Vernon Hargreaves gets the ball at will.  But outside of the big name guys, Wesley Bullock for Plant and Darius Page for Wharton, can easily be MVPs for both teams.  If we were keeping stats Bullock could have any where between 8-12 catches a game with plenty of yards.  Page makes all the big catches.  In traffic on the sideline, in the end zone, Page gets it done!  In semi final game, which Plant defeated Wharton by 6 points, may have came down to a Paris Bostic (Plant) interception for a TD.  Both defenses are tough and will need to bring their “A” game to allow the offenses to put points on the board.

Tomorrow’s game is scheduled to start at 2p at FishHawk Sports Complex and will be televised live on Bright House ch. 1147.  Plant vs Wharton for all the marbles.
