PLANT CITY WR/DB ANTOINE THOMPSON

If April showers bring May flowers, then we can’t wait what the next thirty days offer up for Plant City’s Antoine Thompson. The 2017 WR/CB standout picked up offers the last two months from Bowling Green, FIU, Louisville, Miami, Mississippi State, Marshall, Southern Miss, Toledo, UCF, USF, Western Kentucky and Wisconsin–and just recently within the past week–received offers from Syracuse and North Carolina State to give the young man fourteen offers as spring ball began.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder has skills to play on both sides of the ball. Although his career began as a wide receiver, Thompson has been working tirelessly to put himself in a position to do either at the next level if he chooses. For now, he’s being recruited as a wide receiver.

Thompson has accumulated very nice numbers in his tenure at Plant City. Through his first three seasons on varsity, Thompson currently is good for 1,090 yards and six touchdowns on 53 receptions. His first season of defense, Thompson turned in a solid season with 29 tackles–24 of those solo–with eight passes defensed. The Raiders are loaded this season returning 12 starters–5 on offense and 7 on defense–from a team that finished 11-2 and in the regional finals in Class 7A.

According to Thompson, the University of Miami is his “dream” offer and former-FSU standout Ron Dugans is handling his recruitment. The Raiders will take part in a jamboree this spring with Armwood, Strawberry Crest and Tampa Bay Tech.
