HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY RECRUITING

Production: Blake’s Isaiah Rodgers. Judge and Lukert respected.

Isaiah RodgersBlake head coach Adam Hill has his work cut out for him trying to turn Blake into a winning program. For that to happen, his players will have to buy in. One player who has taken the “Yellow Jacket by the stinger” is Isaiah Rodgers (Blake, CB, 2016, 5-11/160)

Why has he been so good this year? “Isaiah primarily plays defense for us. He is a true, shutdown corner. He is smart, and knows how to play the position” say coach Hill. Teams rarely throw to his side and when they do he is coming down with the ball. “When he does crossover to offense, we use him at WR. He averages 17.1 yards per catch. He also returns kicks for us. He has numerous returns for big yards, and one for a TD.” He’s returned seven kicks for 260 yards, a 37.1yard average. He also has a punt return for a TD against Spoto. Rodgers also punts, has a 40+ yard net average. He can place kick and has become a very positive influence to those around him. Coach Adam Hill finished with “In my opinion he is as good as it gets in this county.”

Player from an opposing team who you thought played great against your team? “Marchalo Judge, Tampa Bay Tech (S, 2016, 5-9/175-185) and I would be remised if I didn’t mention Patrick Lukert, Steinbrenner (ILB, 2016, 6-1/220-230 LB). Made plays all over the field against us and every film we watched.
