Between school, off-season workouts, college visits and being offered scholarships left and right Plant offensive lineman Richy Klepal is keeping busy.

Less than two months ago Klepal was helping lead the Plant Panthers past Miramar in the 8A State Championship game – he had no offers.

Today he was offered scholarships by three different schools to up his total to nine.

“I’m definitely feeling blessed to be in the situation I am,” Klepal said. “It’s just crazy. I never would have thought six months ago that I would be in the spot that I am today. I don’t really know how to describe it. It’s great.”

He received his first offer a few days after the Panthers State Championship game. It’s been a roller coaster ride for the high-touted junior.

“It’s really made me appreciate what I have and appreciate getting the opportunity to play on a state championship team,” he explained. “It also is kind of a reality check to stay focused and stay humble and continue to work my hardest every day; to realize my potential is really limitless – theres nowhere I can go but up.”

Klepal was in high demand for this upcoming weekend. He earned a scholarship to compete at Football University’s three-day camp and was invited to junior days at Florida State University and Auburn.

He’ll split his time between FBU and FSU. Friday he’ll attend FBU, wake up early Saturday and head to Tallahassee, before returning to FBU for Sunday’s session.

Although dissappointed he can’t make it to Auburn this weekend, Klepal says he is going to reschedule the visit as soon as possible.

“Really, it was just my mom saying she’d rather drive four hours than seven hours,” Klepal said after he kicked around the idea of going to FBU, FSU and Auburn all this weekend. “She just said to break it down and do FSU this weekend and reschedule Auburn as soon as possible.”

Klepal will continue to pull in offers and be one of the most highly recruited players in the Bay Area next year.
