Sophomore defensive back Kyle Gibson picked up his first offer today as the in-state University of Central Florida Knights extended a verbal offer, the Armwood defensive back said.

Gibson was a key figure in helping the Armwood Hawks win the 6A State Championship in 2011. He forced a turnover which turned into the game-winning touchdown in the regional final against Gainesville.

“I didn’t think they would pass,” Gibson said after the game.  “They had the lead I thought they would just run the clock out. I thought he was gonna run out of bounds but he tucked it.”

He also came up with an interception in the state semifinal and state championship game.

Gibson has shown a lot potential. He says that he thinks he will gain another inch or two in height while also continuing to work in the weight room throughout his career at Armwood.
