Pinellas Park Patriots
2009 5-5 HC Kenny Crawford
2010 5-5 HC Kenny Crawford
2011 7-4 HC Kenny Crawford District Runner-Up
2012 6-5 HC Kenny Crawford District Runner-Up
Observing the Patriots go through a multi-play inter-squad scrimmage, it was evident that the defense was far ahead of the offense and centered around the aggressive, athletic line backers.
Antonio Harris, 2014 6-1/228 lbs
Harris is the most athletic of the group. Has a bloodhound nose for the football and gets through traffic with ease. He is extremely good when rushing the passers and a solid open field tackler. While at practice, Harris made a number of plays which attracted the attention of a few college recruiters watching the scrimmage; forced the recruiters to ask head coach, Ken Crawford for more information on the rising senior prospect.
Jeremiah Mitchell, 2014 5-9/195 lbs
The smallest of the bunch, but well put together. He is a solid backside backer, tackled well in space and passed dropped very well during the scrimmage.
Kal-El Williams, 2015 6-0/225 lbs
Looks like a middle line backer should. Thick body prospect who attacked the interior runs and scrapped to the perimeter runs while I observed him during the scrimmage. He is very aggressive and showed good defensive instinct to retract and find the football after disengaging with blockers.
OVERALL
Pinellas Park will depend on Pierre Johnson to make plays all over the field. He is their biggest offensive threat and a good one at that. Johnson can play just about every skilled position on the field. Will likely see the most time at running back, receiver and free safety. The offensive line is a project in the works, but because P-Park is a wing T oriented offensive scheme, the line will not be required to bull doze over defenders or block for an extended period of time.
HMMMMM
A very interesting prospect for the future will be freshman QB, Nick Hernandez. He played scout team offense and made a few plays versus the starting defenses. When he was not making plays, the defense was hitting him or had him running for his life. However , he kept getting up and kept jogging back to huddle. He had a competitive attitude to go along with his 6 foot frame and athleticism which leads me to believe that he will the QB of the future for the Patriots.
