In the heart of Pinellas Park, Florida is a sleeper offensive tackle. An offensive tackle with not a lot going on recruiting wise. Not a lot of college coaches sending text messages or calling his cell. Yet, this offensive tackle is a guaranteed sleeper prospect who would make a college program very very happy.

Eric Hampson is a 6-5/290lbs 2013 prospect who is very soft spoken and doesn’t want or ask for too much. He is well aware that he is not a big name and will not command an overwhelming amount of college recruiting attention.

Hampson is a not asking for much. He just wants a school to give him a chance. He is basically interested in any school that is going to give him an education. Hampton doesn’t scream Florida or Florida State. He just wants to play ball.

The Pinellas Park senior sees himself improving, but wants to get even better. He has attended the Down and Dirty Camp and says, “I can get better hands. They say I’m quick, but I can get faster.” His size is a big advantage, looking down on opposing defenders with his 6-5 frame. But, he wants to get stronger in the weight room. His pass protection is really good and he can get to the next level quick when run blocking.

Hampson seems more concerned with his senior season, than recruiting. He softly remarked, “I’m excited about 2012 season. We have some new players and we should be good.”

When asked about what he is looking for in a college football program, “Help me get better, encourage me, kick my butt.” It’s not a case of when, but where? What school is going to take the time to dive into Pinellas Park and evaluate Hampson? He is waiting and is well worth a look.
