Noah! Leadership comes with the name

BehindTheName.com says “Noah” means “rest, comfort”. According to the Old Testament, Noah was the builder of the Ark that allowed him, his family, and animals of each species to survive the great Flood.
Quite the responsibility for one man. Not too far from from a selfless quarterback that puts the team on his back and not his statistics.

Last season, Armwood won 14 games straight and played for a 6A state championship with a first year starting QB. That first year QB is now a veteran leader who has grown up on and off the field.

“Noah [Johnson] has improved every game. He has been asked to do more this year with him now making the OLine checks and getting everyone set up. I think this has helped his understanding of the game.” Says Armwood offensive coordinator, Evan Davis.

His completion percentage has improved to 72% this season and has 5 more passing TDs at this point in season than last year. Probably the most important thing has been his leadership. Coach Davis stated “He has filled in the role of Team leader that everyone wants out of their QB. He holds people accountable, he works hard and always leads by example (both classroom and on the field).”

Davis also told us that Noah is never concerned about himself and his stats rather he wants to make sure that his team is winning. “He has stated numerous times that the most important stat to him is the Win and the rest of things (stats and college) will work themselves out, I think that speaks a lot of his Maturity.” – Evan Davis, Armwood offensive coordinator
