PASCO COUNTY RECRUITING RECRUITING FEATURES

Mutcherson has Hillsborough ties and major potential

Zephyrhills is trying to find their way back on the path of success. A few below average seasons, transfers to rival schools and coaching changes have slowed the Bulldogs in recent years. However, the sun has to shine and it will at Zephyrhills.

The sun will likely shine on the 2014 LB, Jordan Mutcherson. 6-1/235lbs Bulldog replica, Mutcherson is a train wreck waiting to happen for any running back. He is a raw middle backer with very good instinct, hands, improving footwork and just plays reckless.

The name “Mutcherson” should ring a bell. Jordan is the cousin of ex-Freedom standout and current Iowa State defensive back, TJ Mutcherson. Played for the Freedom High Patriots under coach James Harrell … 2009 All-Western Conference National Division first-team kickoff returner … 2009 Tampa Tribune second-team All-Hillsborough County team kickoff returner … as a senior, caught 34 passes for 736 yards and six touchdowns … on defense, had 74 tackles and four interceptions … returned kicks for the Patriots with nine returns going for 331 yards and two touchdowns … in playoff loss to Countryside, caught 30-yard touchdown pass and forced and recovered a fumble. ~ http://www.cyclones.com

Though well known by Tampa Bay media outlets, Jordan is still pretty much unknown with college recruiters. He is receiving mail from Nebraska, Indiana, Oregon and Wisconsin. He has improved on his, speed, strength, footwork. All which played a factor last season when Mutcherson caused a fumble on the quarterback, recovered it and returned it for a 35 yards TD vs. Hudson. Mutcherson said it was big play because, “Time was about to expire in the 2nd quarter. Clock ran out as I scored. It was a big play!” (1:25 mark on hilites linked below)

All LBs like doing a few things. Hitting RBs and sackings QBs. Much the same for Mutch, “I like knocking someone’s head off from time to time. Pick them back up. Love the game. I couldn’t play any other position. You have to have speed and you have to stay hungry for the ball.”

Pasco High is the favorite in the County and district. But, expectations are high in the Bulldog locker room and for Jordan Mutcherson, “I really love the game of football, trying to do bigger and better things this year. Lead the county in tackles and sacks. I’m playing fullback this year also. So I want to show that I can run the ball and score some touchdowns.” SEE JORDAN MUTCHERSON HILITES HERE
