MAKE YOUR PICK: DUFFEY OR WARD? VIDEO SUPPORT PROVIDED

The top two rushing junior running backs call Tampa Bay Tech and Jefferson High School Home. Treshaun Ward (Tampa Bay Tech), a transfer from Plant City high school captured the attention of BCP as a sophomore. Slashing through defenses and showing his skill as a natural running back. Niko Duffey (Jefferson) has done nothing but his job. In a “pass happy” offense, Duffey chewed up defenses in 2017 for 1,305 rushing yards.

Each has their own running style and surely deadly in their respective offenses so we put them side by side because at this point, they will be tied to the hip as both are regarded as two of the highest evaluated running backs in the area.

Duffey posted seven 100 yard games and even a 236 yard game versus Brandon. Ward ended the season with five games rushing for 200 yards with 15 rushing touchdowns. Averaged an incredible 21 yards per carry versus Sickles on just 7 attempts and rushed for 150 yards.

See if you can spot a few glaring similarities. Pay close attention to the film provided and note what you like about each athlete. Then…tell us “who you got?”
